FOR BOOKING
FOR ANY OTHER INFO EMAIL It's been a long road to get where we are today. We play around the
DFW area all the time and look for us in other cities soon too. We've
had members come and go but currently we are honing in on the ultimate
sound. We are probably unlike anything you've ever heard before. We
are heavy. We are melodic. And we are technical. ------------------------------------------------------------------ More
about VODNIK Vodnik began in the year 2000 as the band Inferno X by the original members, Chris Musser and Josh Johnson. Josh began on guitar and Chris on bass. They were both just learning the instruments at the time. Josh began musically when he was 7 when he started taking piano lessons and took them through late 2002 at age 15. He began guitar when he was 14. Chris was playing the trombone in the school band when they met and started bass around the same time Josh did. There were other members of Inferno X. Josh joined another band along with Inferno X called Decadence and played a couple shows at a local club called Dreamworld and a bar called The Aardvark in Fort Worth. They disbanded. Inferno X went through some member changes and changed the name to Antigone. Antigone played 2 shows in early 2004 with Josh playing guitar and vocals before meeting Derrick Stanley. They put him on vocals almost immediately and started working. Derrick had been in 2 other bands, Analogue Ecstasy and Lipstitch and played a couple gigs at some local clubs and parties as a vocalist and a bassist, separately. His roommate, Phillip Sabo had been playing the guitar for some time and after demonstrating his ability and passion was positioned as rythym guitarist for the band. Soon after that Antigone acquired manager Mike Boodagh who informed the band that the name Antigone was taken so they changed the name to Vodnik. The drummer at the time left the band shortly after and the band was left with a show at a party with no drummer. Josh had taken up drums in early 2004 and had picked them up enough to fill in for drums, which forced Chris to switch to guitar temporarily to provide for certain harmonizations. Shortly after that, the band had another show where they were forced to play as the same and then it was decided that Josh would be the official drummer, which is currently Vodnik’s roster as of now except that a second guitarist was missing. Juan joined recently and has played guitar for the band since. Some Vodnik music can be heard on myspace.com/vodn1k . Vodnik has sold Tshirts and demos, stickers and posters at shows. One of Vodnik’s greatest achievements was 65 people at their Second show coming just for them. They have played The Phoenix in Arlington (formerly Dreamworld), Galaxy Club, Club Clearview in Deep Ellum, Ridgley Theater in Fort Worth, Asylum in Lake Worth and The Door in Dallas, as well as several local partys and shows. As of now the band is playing as many shows as Mike schedules, usually on Friday and Saturday nights, which is about 2 or 3 shows a month. They’ve been playing shows frequently and don’t plan on stopping any time soon. They were received very well in Dallas at Club Clearview, playing with Necrogazm, ¾ Ton and The Destro. The crowd could be heard screaming during their songs and Josh could hear them over his drums. They’ve opened for National Acts such as God Dethroned and Nightrage on the IEMF tour and Six Feet Under. According to the band, they’ve only just begun and don’t plan on stopping. Things are looking up for Vodnik.Much thanks to the fans and the street team.
